Do you have a djembe standing around the house for decoration just collecting dust? Are you interested in learning how to play rhythms and becoming part of a community? If the answer is yes, then this might be the group for you!
I am not a professional drummer, nor do I know how to play! I've just got a strong desire to play the djembe and participate in those magical drumming circles. So, I thought I'd start this group to see who else might be interested in learning together! We'll be meeting at my house in Silver Spring and using Youtube videos and each other to learn the patterns. Eventually, we'll move out to the backyard and have a drumming circle around the fire pit!
If you've got experience and would like to help others, you're also the right person for this group! And, if you play some other type of hand drum, feel free to bring it!
The true purpose of this group is to create a community that wants to meet again. :-)
