Community Gardening Workshop in LA

This isn't just another Saturday morning—it's a chance to make a direct, visible impact in your community. LA Sanitation & Environment and Good Earth Community Garden are calling on our neighbors to help us with our most ambitious volunteer day of the year.

Our Mission: We need to rally 50 volunteers to prepare our shared space for a bountiful fall harvest. With your help, we can ensure the garden remains a vibrant, productive, and beautiful sanctuary for everyone.
Join us for a high-energy morning of teamwork, sunshine, and community building. Learn practical skills including weed removal, natural pest control, composting techniques, and seed planting—all while connecting with your local community.

Your Impact – What We'll Accomplish Together:

• Clear the Way for New Life: Tackle overgrown areas to prepare garden beds for planting.
• Build Our Garden's Future: Create and turn nutrient-rich compost that will feed our soil.
• Sow the Seeds of Change: Plant a new generation of cool-weather vegetables and flowers.

No Green Thumb Required! Whether you're a master gardener or have never touched a trowel in your life, we need your energy and enthusiasm. We will provide all the necessary tools, training, and guidance. This event is for ages 18 and over.

Event Day Schedule:

• 9:00 AM: Check-in, meet your fellow volunteers, quick welcome
• 9:05 AM: Training & demonstration of tasks.
• 9:30 AM: Let's get to work! We'll break into teams to tackle our goals.
• 12:00 PM: Tools down, wrap-up, and a huge thank you for your incredible work!

What to Bring:

• A full, reusable water bottle (we'll have a water refill station).
• Sunscreen and a hat to protect you from the sun.
• Comfortable clothes and sturdy, closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.
• Gardening gloves

What We'll Provide:

• All necessary gardening tools.
• Expert guidance and instruction.
• A fun, positive, and rewarding atmosphere.
