What we’re about
Meet other hiking enthusiasts who are dedicated to hiking excursions near and far. We hike every Saturday. Our hikes vary from easy to difficult, depending on the hike location, terrain and length. We are committed to leaving no trace wherever we go.
We host camping trips a few times a year, backpack, snowshoe and organize field trips focused on topics such as geology and wildflower viewing. We work on wilderness legislation, along with participating in stewardship events that keep our city clean. We occasionally host graffiti cleanups at various locations and glass cleanups to help save the condors.
We're all about fun and a sense of community, and most of our events are completely free. All ages and fitness levels are invited to join us.

Elder + Towsley Loop
Location not specified yetDESCRIPTION: This epic combo hike starts at the Elder Loop parking lot off The Old Road and takes you through Santa Clarita's most diverse terrain! Begin by winding through open mountain vistas along the creek, then tackle a few switchbacks with dramatic drop-offs (minimal shade, so bring sun protection).
The adventure really kicks off when you transition into Towsley's geological wonderland - think tar pits, frothy streams, and rock formations that'll make your jaw drop! The Tataviam people once harvested natural asphalt here for healing and crafts. Squeeze through the slot-like Narrows with its towering vertical rock walls - it's like nature's own hallway!
Stay left twice after the Narrows, then climb the switchbacks to reach the 2,450-foot summit. Your reward? Breathtaking views as you descend into lush Wiley Canyon. Follow the dirt road left, then take the Canyon View Loop Trail for one final summit traverse before finishing at Ed Davis Park near the ranger station.
What to expect: Steep terrain, incredible diversity (desert to riparian), geological marvels, and panoramic views. This challenging combo showcases the best of Santa Clarita's wild side!

Pony Park, PCT, Pacifico and Plutons Lolly Pop Loop - Redo
Mill Creek Summit, California, CA, USDESCRIPTION: Starting from the serene trailhead at Pony Park, this hike winds upward along a scenic stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail, offering a steady, shaded climb through pine and oak as you gain elevation toward Mt. Pacifico. The route is quiet and peaceful, with sweeping views of Palmdale, Antelope Valley and the San Gabriel .
We will take the PCT to the base of Mt Pacifico to a short but doable assent for about 1/2 a mile before we make it to the Pacifico Plutons—massive granite outcrops that seem to erupt from the earth, offering a surreal, otherworldly landscape perfect for scrambling, lounging, and, of course, snaky time.
Finally with a sharp decent we will find our way back to the PCT and decent back the same route up back to the Pony Park Day use area where we started. All together about 10.3 Miles and about 1170 feet.
