Weldon Canyon to East Canyon

This is a great hike that is 8 miles with 1,000 ft. of gain. Weldon Canyon is a continuous climb to the top where you will traverse over into East Canyon. There are some great views of the San Fernando Valley, and the Sunshine Landfill along the way, so bring your camera.

Meet at the East Canyon Trail head at 7:00 AM where you will carpool to the Weldon Trail head.

Bring: Lots of water, snacks, lunch (optional), camera, hiking poles (helpful if you have them).

Directions to trail head: Exit the I-5 at Calgrove. If you’re coming from Valencia, turn right. If you’re coming from the San Fernando Valley, turn left. Follow this road around, go through the signal. You are now paralleling the freeway, and going south. Pass Towsley Canyon, the post office, and the Church of the Nazarene. Immediately after the church of the Nazarene, park on the street. The hike leader will meet you here. Look for the American Flag to find your leader!
