In these monthly photography sessions, we will walk through the gardens, orchard, fields, woods, and along the lakeshore of The Earthius Project and learn to REALLY SEE. We will engage our new "sight" by taking photos and discussing interesting angles, composition, perspective, and creative editing.

Each session will focus more on a specific subject, but the overall experience will always bring you back to nature. Less emphasis is given on camera settings, however, to some extent the instructor and other participants may be able to help you improve your knowledge of your camera's settings, features, and limitations.

Bring your camera, your mask (required whenever we are within 6 feet of each other), and your curiosity... it does not really matter what you use, DSLR or phone, it matters only that you are open to the experience! These meetups are for any age 14 and up. Young participants are encouraged to attend only if they are truly interested in the visual arts and nature, can maintain attention a full two hours, and have their own access to at least a phone camera.

These sessions are donation or work-trade based.

DONATION OPTION: Please support The Earthius Project either as a "Supporter" at $10 per session, as an "Enthusiast" at $20 per session, or as "Committed to Change" at $30 per session. Both the Enthusiast and Committed to Change donors will receive either potted seedlings or wildflower seeds; and the Committed to Change supporter will additionally have access to the post-meetup, online Zoom call in which we will review some of the images taken and learn how to bring out the best in them using Adobe Photoshop or your phone's editing app (I will share my screen to demonstrate these skills). It is also a great opportunity to receive constructive feedback from other participants.

WORK-TRADE OPTION: If you wish to volunteer your time instead, you can work-trade on The Earthius Project for one hour in lieu of each $10 donation level. So to achieve the "Committed to Change" level, you would work-trade a minimum of 3 hours. Work-trade tasks might include things like planting out seedlings, hauling woodchips with a wheelbarrow, cleaning out the chicken coup, weeding or any other task that needs doing for which you have the skills or interest in learning. You can work-trade after each session or arrange another time.

Please indicate on your RSVP which option and level you are choosing.

You can give your donation safely via Venmo @earthius, CashApp $earthius, or in cash at the time of the meetup. Donations and work-trade are per person, even if you are under 18.

Your donation ensures the further development and survival of The Earthius Project, which is a demonstration site for the application and teaching of regenerative earthkeeping, permaculture practices, and holistic water management. The Project is also committed to reconnecting the public with earth and nature via art, photography, gardening, permaculture, and community building.
