Long before Reiki came to Japan from the West, Chiyoko Yamaguchi had first hand contact with the original Reiki techniques of Mikao Usui and Dr. Hayashi. In 1999 she finally founded the Jikiden Reiki Institute together with her son Tadao to keep alive her experience.

Tadao Yamaguchi relates the fascinating life story of his mother, a great Japanese Reiki Master who had learned Reiki from Dr. Hayashi at the age of 17 and kept on practicing in her daily life for more than 65 years, passing on her wealth of insights to her son.

A journey towards the origins of Reiki as it evolved from Mikao Usui's first inspirations, showing you how it was traditionally taught and practiced in Japan in the mid-thirties of the last centry, including many valuable practical applications and cultural backgrounds:
