Details
Community Table invites you to join us for a special event! This presentation will be an excellent overview the pelvic floor, the role it plays in our health and wellbeing, explanations of common problems and why they occur, and the various ways to treat them. An important additional topic is what health professional will be most likely to help treat the various problems.
Jennifer Laroy completed her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2009 at the University of Alberta. Her deep appreciation for movement and the relationship of the body to the ground beneath us (the literal ground or a piece of equipment!) led her to complete her Stott Pilates training post-grad as she wanted additional support structures in place for helping individuals reconnect to the felt sense in and through their body.
Her clinical interest expanded to Pelvic Health in 2013 which is now her main area of practice as a Physiotherapist. She currently supports clients in preventative care for their pelvic health at any stage of life as well as management and treatment of symptoms that arise in teenage years, pre and postpartum, peri and post menopause as well as pelvic and genital persistent pain conditions. She is a person that can sit quietly in the space of pain, frustration, questions and desire for change. In her spare time, she loves being outside, reading and spending loads of time with her nieces and nephew.
