What we’re about

Beartha is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that promotes health and wellness to people and animals through community, support, and resources.

We do this by offering:

  1. Hosting donation drives to help displaced individuals with pets and/or individuals that are going through financial hardship.  (pet food , pet products ,hygiene products, non-perishable meal, resource form, and more)
  2. Providing resources that can help with finding shelter, pantry, pet food assistance, and more
  3. Educating individuals about health and wellness for people and animals
  4. Fostering cats/dogs in animal shelters

This world we call home is home to all of us and we deserve to live on this Earth in unity. We also deserve to live in a place where it is okay to be ourselves, we all have flaws but we are all UNIQUE. We are all in this together!
We all live on this planet and it shouldn't only be a place that people live comfortably but also for animals.

Beartha's Vision: To create a community that we can all live in harmony regardless of race, pay, status, and species.

#### Our 2024-2025 Goal

##### We would like to expand out Stay Pawsome Program

Our Stay Pawsome program aims to support local animal shelters and individuals in need by fostering cats and dogs, providing both temporary homes for animals in shelters and a safe haven for pets of those facing financial hardship.
By fostering animals, we are able to  free up space in shelters, allowing them to rescue and care for even more animals in need. Additionally, we can help pet owners who may be struggling financially by providing a temporary home for their beloved companions until they are able to care for them again.
Between 5% to 10% of homeless people in the United States own pets (mainly dogs and/or cats). Of the 241,117 dogs and cats that entered North Carolina shelters, 170,753 found positive placements, while 47,652 were killed (76% were cats), for a save rate of 70.82%. 25.58% of North Carolina shelters are no-kill (a state is considered to be no-kill when every brick-and-mortar shelter serving and/or located within the state has a save rate of 90% or higher).

What we do in this meetup:
We volunteer with other organizations or groups to help lend a hand. The volunteer opportunities will always be to help human, animals, or both. We also have events we put together that we would need a helping hand with as well.

Thank you for joining our meetup , it is a pleasure to have you in our Community.

Outside of volunteering , we do come together to celebrate birthdays(of our volunteers) and have a good time.
This group is a great way to serve the community and make new friends
All are welcomed !
