What we’re about

We are a global online community to bring newbies of collaborative business and software modeling and design methods together with creators, practitioners and thought leaders.

OK, but what is "Collaborative Modeling"?

Software developers and domain experts need a common language to be able to talk about the domain, the software requirements and the solution design. Collaborative Modeling is designed to connect the domain knowledge in the heads of users and domain experts with the heads of developers, testers, product owners, product managers, business analysts – and everyone involved in software development.

We use diverse methods, such as e.g. Business Model Canvas, Domain Storytelling, Event Modeling, Event Storming, Example Mapping, Impact Mapping, Specification by ExampleStorystorming, User Story Mapping and others, because this list is not (and probably will never be) exhaustive.

Many of us have some background in Domain-Driven Design, because with the success of DDD, Collaborative Modeling techniques gained more popularity and acceptance. With the Comocamp we are reaching out to tap into the knowledge of other communities and learn more about visual collaboration methods useful in a context of software development, for which some crucial common denominators seem to be collaborative learning, assisted by visual and haptic means, fostering a direct feedback loop between involved people.

Please also check out https://comocamp.org/ to learn more about our offline and online meetups.

(Please note: we'll meet everywhere, and for now mostly online, not just in Vienna, Austria. However, the idea for the ComoCamp was originally developed in a small live music bar in Vienna's Bermuda triangle :-) so we use it as a location for the Meetup system - just like a nostalgic souvenir!)
