A SPECIAL WINE TASTING
Join us for an evening of Wine Tasting and lively conversation at the award winning Portello Wine Café. European inspired, Portello features a Euro-industrial feel with an airy, attractive interior of brick and cherry and a comfortable patio seating area outside. We will be tasting four different wines selected specially for our event by Portello owner and Certified Sommelier Courtney Marlatt. We will also be enjoying tasty cheese and charcuterie appetizers, while also learning interesting facts about the wines being presented. We have reserved most of the venue for our group.

RSVPs opened on Tuesday evening, April 5th. We are limiting this event to 25 folks. After signing up, we request prepayment of $30 to hold your spot. If you do not receive your payment (Venmo/PayPal/Zelle) prior to the deadline, you will be moved to the waitlist.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
Wine flight, tasty cheese and charcuterie, and gratuity. Our server will also be sharing interesting facts about each wine being tasted.

SELECTED WINES
We will be tasting four wines, two from France and two from the Pacific Northwest.

  • Rosé from Provence, France - BY.OTT - Tasting Notes: Vibrant blush hue. Expressive, fruity nose with aromas of wild peaches and redcurrants. Fresh and bright with a nicely balanced body which reveals a silky, velvety texture. On the palate, the wine bursts with notes of peach and citrus fruits and finishes with a fusion of plum and cardamon aromas. Varietals: 62% Grenache, 21% Cinsault, 6% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre. Vintage 2021
  • Premier Cru Chardonnay from Burgundy, France - Les Tourelles de la Crée - Tasting Notes: Aromas are acacia, mayflower, honeysuckle, bramble flowers with notes of hazelnut, white peach and ripe pear. In the mouth, the wine is fresh, young at heart, frisky, alluring, and rich. Refinement and delicacy are harmoniously matched to a durably well-built structure. Varietals: 100% Chardonnay. Vintage 2018
  • Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, Oregon - FLÂNEUR CUVÉE CONSTANTIN - Tasting Notes: Dark, deep, and brooding aromas dominate here. The nose leads with earthy notes of roasted mushroom, forest oor and spice and follows through with dark red fruits. The generous palate is turbocharged with lively acidity and framed with chewy, ripe tannins. The palate is replete with complex flavors of red fruits, tea leaf and earth, showcasing the character of the two vineyards this wine is composed of. Varietals: 100% Pinot Noir. Vintage 2018
  • Red Blend from Walla Walla, Washington - Cow Catcher Red - Tasting Notes: An appealing aroma of candied and caramelized mixed fruit and spice develops into scents of dark cherry, plum, blueberry, and boysenberry, mixed with hints of roasted nuts, caramel/butterscotch, vanilla, cedar, and toasted oak. The wine is concentrated and full-bodied, with balanced acidity, blueberry syrup, spice box, and berry jam on the finish. Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petite Syrah. Vintage 2017

ABOUT PORTELLO - http://www.portellowinecafe.com/
In Europe you find them all over the place; great little neighborhood wine bars filled with the sounds of friends laughing, glasses clinking, and maybe even a little live music playing. Bend has one of those places, too. Portello Wine Café in Northwest Crossing on Bend’s Westside.

Portello was opened back in 2006 and was one of the first businesses in the Northwest Crossing neighborhood. They offer a fun and welcoming environment for people to gather and create memories while enjoying wonderful wine. They have 27 different wines by the glass from all over the world, as well as a great selection of retail bottles. Their food is bistro style with light, fresh dishes and a wide selection of cheese and charcuterie. Portello serves up a choice of paninis, nine different mix and match bruschetta combinations, cheeses and charcuterie, salads, and a pretty great chocolate and fruit board.

Certified Sommelier Courtney Marlatt came to own Portello in 2018 after managing the business for 4 years while studying for her Certified Sommelier exam. Courtney recently commented "It has been an absolute joy getting to know our guests throughout the years and we are excited to continue to grow along with this wonderful community!"
