Land of Medicine Buddha — Wednesday Workout [LMB]
Details
Wednesday’s Workout Wanders Eastward!
Our Westside Wednesday Workout is exploring new digs. We bop over to Medicine Buddha this week, and will cover more ground up north along the coast in the coming weeks. But, I expect Cotoni will remain our main squeeze.
This week’s special location is:
Land of Medicine Buddha (LMB)
5800 Prescott Rd, Soquel
831-462-8383
Deets:
Alltrails Route is 6 miles, 970’ TEG.
Carpool to share the $20 entrance fee.
Bring: Good shoe tread, hiking poles, meditative presence, beer money
2pm Hike Departure — LMB closes at 5pm, so please be ready to start our hike at 2pm
Suggested Carpool Meeting Point:
You can arrange to carpool in the comments or not at all, or just meet in front of Beer Thirty. I’ll plan to be there @1:20, carpools depart @1:30:
Beer 30, 2504 S Main St, Soquel
Parking Fee: Look for a QR code as you enter, to pay online, or walk to the bookstore / office once you park. The entry fee is $20 / car, and there is no parking allowed on Prescott Rd before entering LMB. (Pedestrians and bikes are also $20 each.)
Rainy Weather: Rain is forecast to stop around 8pm Tuesday night, with at most light showers Wednesday afternoon. I checked the trails the day after our last storm and they were still in great condition with duff covering most of the trail amd surprisingly little mud. But, there were a couple of steep spots that became very slippery — if you have hiking poles, they would be helpful in those spots. Depending on trail conditions, we can modify our route to avoid the lower elevation portion that is more likely to retain pools of water.
Temperature: Brisk 48 — 50F.
Other possible hazards include ticks, poison oak, ego imploding Buddhist verses and frolicking wood elves.
Join us for a Healthful Hikeful, a bite sized hike, on leave from our Cotoni origins.
Let's grow this event into a weekly Wednesday workout. If you wish to speed ahead, or dilly-dally behind the herd, please alert the host before disappearing out of earshot!
