Sturgeon Moon over Freedom Tower from 13.4 miles! West Orange, NJ

Don't miss the moon behind the Freedom Tower this coming Friday! We are expecting crystal clear skies. I've been trying to get this shot for several years. Join me and capture great images of this exciting event.

The moon will line up behind the Freedom Tower from our shooting location on Friday, 8/8/2025 at 8:08 PM. It will appear to have a diameter of 640 feet! The sun will set a few minutes before the moon is behind the tower.

You will need a minimum of 400-500mm lens for this shoot. The shooting location is in West Orange, New Jersey. Registered participants will receive directions to the meetup.
