March Book Club - Silence by Thich Nhat Hanh
Details
Join us as we explore Silence by Thich Nhat Hanh. This book is a gentle but powerful guide to cultivating inner stillness in a very noisy world. Thich Nhat Hanh invites us to look at how constant mental chatter, external stimulation, and unconscious habits disconnect us from ourselves, and how intentional silence can reconnect us to peace, clarity, and presence.
We will reflect on what true silence really means (it’s not just the absence of sound), how mindfulness creates spaciousness in our lives, and how we can practice deeper awareness in everyday moments.
This will be a thoughtful, open conversation with no pressure to have all the answers. Just curiosity and presence.
Questions we’ll explore:
• What does “silence” mean to you beyond the absence of noise?
• Where do you notice the most mental chatter in your life?
• What feels uncomfortable about silence, and why?
• How might intentional pauses shift your relationships or daily routine?
• What practices from the book feel realistic for you to integrate?
Come as you are. Bring your reflections, your questions, and your willingness to slow down.
