Full Moon Fire Ceremony 🔥🌕 Sturgeon Moon

Details

6:45 for 7 pm start. Full Moon Fire Ceremony 🔥🌕
Our local Shaman friend Shannon O'Flaherty, who has led some lovely rituals and ceremonies for our Conscious Cafe Skipton community on the year's quarter days, regularly offers a Full Moon Ceremony in her garden in Ilkley. She is inviting you to join her. She usually holds these on the actual Full Moon day or a few day's either side.
The Sturgeon Full Moon is named after the giant, ancient fish that were most abundant in lakes and rivers during this time of year—especially in North America. Sturgeon are strong, resilient creatures that have been around for millions of years, and that energy carries through to the meaning of this moon.
Spiritually, the Sturgeon Moon is all about inner strength, endurance, and deep wisdom. It arrives toward the end of summer, when we’re starting to feel the shift from outward expansion to inward reflection. It’s a powerful moment to reconnect with your roots, trust your intuition, and honor the lessons life has taught you.
Symbolically, this moon speaks to resilience, legacy, and emotional depth. It reminds you that you’re not just floating on the surface—you’re swimming through life with purpose, grace, and experience. Like the sturgeon, you're stronger than you may appear, and you carry within you a deep well of wisdom and instinct.
It’s also a time to reflect on your harvest—both literal and spiritual. What have you been working on this year that’s starting to take form? What do you want to preserve and protect? This moon encourages you to recognize your accomplishments and to trust the slower, more grounded rhythms of growth.
The Sturgeon Moon gently asks:
What ancient wisdom within you is ready to surface?

Shannon says: "Acknowledging the presence of the Full Moon is about ending one cycle and beginning a new one. To let go, invite in, find balance and connect with your higher knowing and connection to Source. Fire 🔥 transmutes heavy energy to light! It’s amazing how much taking things to the fire can alter your life! 🙏💜 "

Bring a small stick about the size of a pencil.
WEATHER NOTE: Although the fire ceremony dates are all on Meetup fixed in advance, as we get close to the evening, if big rain is forecast for that particular night, Shannon may advocate a date change to a dry night as all the events are outside in her garden!

Venue is Chez Shannon's in Ilkley. House number given to those who book. Please arrive at 6.45pm for a prompt 7pm start. Depending on the numbers, the ceremony will be over within 2 hours leaving time for a hot drink and review.
A donation of ÂŁ5 is requested for this offering to cover hospitality and Meetup costs.
