# Event Description
An intentional alternative to speed dating.
If you’ve ever felt like traditional dating events are not designed for thoughtful, high quality, relationship-minded people, this experience was created for you.
The Slow Spark Social brings together a curated group of Austin professionals (ages 45–58) for an evening of meaningful conversation, relaxed connection, and genuine discovery.
This is not about quick judgments or clever one-liners.
It’s about creating the space for something real to emerge.
# What Makes This Different
Instead of the typical “3-minute rotation,” we create a more natural rhythm:
• 8-minute conversations that allow depth without pressure
• thoughtfully designed prompts to spark meaningful dialogue
• a calm, welcoming environment (not a loud bar scene)
• a community of emotionally intelligent, growth-oriented individuals
We believe that relationships are one of the most meaningful arenas of personal growth in our lives — and how we meet matters.
# The “Slow Spark” Philosophy
Not every meaningful connection is instant.
Some of the best relationships begin with:
• curiosity
• ease
• a sense of “I’d like to keep talking to this person”
We call these slow sparks — and we create space for them to unfold.
# Event Flow
• 3:00-3:15 pm: Arrival (please be right on time) + light mingling
• 3:15-3:30: Guided introduction to the experience + ice breaker
• 3:30-4:30: Structured conversation rounds (8 minutes each)
• 4:30-5:00: Submit preferences (for later matching) and Mingling
You’ll meet a number of people in a relaxed, intentional format — without the pressure of “getting it right.”
# After the Event
After the event, you’ll have the opportunity to:
• indicate who you’d like to reconnect with
• receive mutual matches
• continue conversations at your own pace
# Who This Is For
This event is for you if you:
• are 45–58
• value meaningful conversation over small talk
• are open, curious, and respectful
• are interested in authentic connection (not just casual swiping and hookups)
# Event Structure
To create a high-quality experience:
• events are gender-balanced
• advance registration is required
• participants complete a short intake form prior to receiving event location (please email: clientcare@theimportantwork.com to receive the survey link, due by March 25, 7 pm)
# Tickets
The first 200 who join the Conscious Connections group by May 1 receive free entry to two events through June 1.
For those joining after May 1 and events after June 1, registration will be $36 per person (or tickets can be bought in blocks of 3 for $90).
Bringing a friend is always a half-price ticket for you both! (Invite as many friends as you like before May 1 but be sure they complete our survey before attending an event)

This community was created after years of navigating dating as a busy professional woman, wanting something more intentional, more human, and more aligned with the kind of relationship I hoped to build.
