Losing love to death is incredibly hard. But having your ex still be alive, and just not choosing you -- or, getting to the point where you need to walk away -- is incredibly hard, too. At 50+, we all know that kind of pain.

Maybe you've been a lesbian for years or decades, or maybe you're just getting started on your lesbian love journey.

Regardless, it can be easy to wonder, "Am I too set in my ways? Will anyone really want me as I am now? How about sex -- what will that be like for me now? Am I really capable of falling in love again, and do I even want that? And, is the right person for me even out there?"

One thing I often say is, "She is out there -- but only if you're in here." What I mean by that is, I've seen over and over again that this universe is magical, and that it only takes one truly amazing person to change your entire life. But you're not likely to find that person until you're truly ready for her.
(And that's a good thing -- because if you find her before you're ready for her, you'll just end up messing it up anyway, and what a loss that would be!)

Here's the thing: at this age, you know yourself so much better. But that also means that you can quickly rule out many women whom you would once have dated. It can be depressing to feel like now the pool is even smaller than it used to be.

And that's true. It is.

But you know what? That doesn't matter, because if you're dating to find that one special person, you don't need a big pool. You just need a way to find and recognize her.

And the clearer and more ready you are, the faster you can find her.
