Coming out over 40? New to loving women? Whether you're just getting started with lesbian dating or love, came out a while ago but are still finding your footing, are in your first relationship with a woman (or wondering how to find one), have never been with a woman, are still married to a man, or are just wondering and questioning, you are welcome here.
We know it can be scary to push the buttons that put you in a class like this, so we want to assure you: No one will assume anything about you. You don't have to commit to anything. You get to be wherever, and whoever, you are.
Today's gathering is a once-monthly welcome mat we roll out to help later-in-life lesbians. On other Thursdays, our group meets in a peer-led support format, which you can learn more about when you come!
Here's the thing. In Conscious Girlfriend Academy, we see more women showing up in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s than ever before. There are lots of individual and social factors that can help us make sense of this, and lots of new science about romantic and sexual orientation. And in many Western countries, there is much more visibility and legal protection than there was in the past, so it's easier and more possible to live our authentic lives. And yet, the truth is, for most of us it's still hard.
This group exists to make it easier!
It's a place to make sense of who you are, what you want, and who you're becoming -- with no pressure, no need to explain or justify, no expectations, and lots of space to just BE.
Whether you're not even sure if being with women is what you want -- yet you just can't put it out of your mind... Or, you're bursting out of the closet with flags waving, looking for your people... we're here to support you.
Today's class will be a Q&A and discussion, so our content will be determined by your needs and questions. But here's some of what we might talk about in The Later-In-Life Lesbian Q&A class on October 1:
