Relaxing & Grounding Tea Ceremony 🍵
Details
Gung Fu Tea is the art of brewing tea with mindfulness, precision, and heart.
With only two ingredients — leaf and water — the depth you can explore is profound. Unlike steeping tea all at once, this practice unfolds in a series of short infusions, revealing an arc in flavor, energy, and spirit.
For me, Gung Fu Tea is both a meditative practice and a way to work with the body’s energetic system. High-quality Chinese teas can be grounding, uplifting, or deeply calming — and can be sequenced to create a gentle energetic journey.
When we sit for tea, we’re having a conversation — not just with each other, but with the leaf itself. Each pour, each steeping, reveals a little more. The people present shape the tea as much as the water and the pot. It’s an invitation to slow down, connect, and simply be.
What to Expect
✽ A warm, welcoming space (usually my home in the historic Montford neighborhood)
✽ A tea selected intuitively to match the energy of those present and the direction we wish to journey together
✽ A progression of short infusions, each revealing new layers of the tea’s flavor, aroma, and energy
✽ Moments of silence, connection, and reflection without pressure to fill the air
✽ Space to show up exactly as you are
Where We'll Be
This will take place in my home in the historic Montford neighborhood. We'll be in a large room with bay windows overlooking green ivy and sitting on a decorative rug. Throughout our time together there will be soft music playing to create a supportive and peaceful atmosphere.
What Do I Need to Bring?
We'll be siting on a carpeted floor. Feel free to bring a pillow, cushion, backjack or whatever would help you feel comfortable. If you need a chair to be comfortable, please let me know.
No Fragrances Please
Please don't wear any perfume, cologne, hair products, etc with a strong scent. Thanks!
