What is a conservative mind?

Howdy all!

As this is a new group, I feel that the first event should look at what is trying to be accomplished. To that end, let's have a discussion on what a conservative mind is! How does this differ from a progressive mind or socialist mind? What impact does this have in life? In politics? On society? How would we view what is happening in the world currently? Can we learn anything from history? What can be done for society today?

This will also allow us to meet each other, find out what we want from the group, to propose topics for upcoming sessions, and where people would feel comfortable to meet.
