Retro/Modern Video Gaming Halloween Spectacular Meetup

So it's the spooky time of year again! Time for tricks and treats and games about the things that go bump in the night! Since Halloween is falling on a Saturday we were thinking of maybe doing a little costume run before starting our gaming event. We're figuring that we'd meet up at the Potomac Mills Mall around 2pm and run around in costume for an hour or so before returning to Ken and Ben's place.

If you're not up for running around the mall, we'd ask that you then come to the meet up place around 3:30 pm where we will continue festivities. For dinner we're looking to have pizza so we would ask everyone please contribute $5 to $10 if possible. We'll be discussing topping in our Discord channel.

We've got a new VR set up and some great spooky games installed directly on it for those looking for some scares. It is also the end of Daylight Saving Time giving us an extra hour of game time for those who might like to stay late. We've also gotten the front door light fixed so we're expecting some trick or treaters to stop by so we'll need someone by the door. We were figuring it could be done in small shifts for those who want to hand out candy. Regular details as follows.

Vaccine verification will be made via either presentation of your Vaccine card at the door, or a photo of the updated card posted to the vaccine channel of the group Discord.

Masks are now optional.

We've got a decently sized collection of systems ranging from the old 8-16 bit days, on through to all the current systems, including the PS5, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Ouya, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, PC, Nvidia Shield TV, Evercade VS, and even an Amiga 1200, as well as a decent number of controllers. Please bring any Wii U pro, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, or PS4 controllers you have though, as we could use those, and any games that people might bring would also be welcome. We have a second and third screen with classic consoles and a spare PS4, and have some streaming from our PC, thanks to our Steam Link. We also have an arcade cab, filled to the brim with games! It's also got HDMI inputs. If you have a system you would like to bring along, please do so! Here's hoping to see you all here!!!
