Somewhere in a million transactions, fraud is hiding. It’s camouflaged, but it’s there.
Can you find it? Probably not by eye, and not with simple rules either.
In this live session, our Data Science trainer from Zurich (Stefanie Wedel) takes you through a practical example: from raw financial data to the suspicious transactions no human would spot. You’ll see the full process step by step, with real code and plain-language explanations.
What you’ll see:
1. Human detection: How do we approach unfamiliar data? What catches our eye, and what do we miss?
2. Machine detection: How feature engineering and machine learning bring hidden patterns to the surface in large datasets, with a look at Polars, the fast data library more and more data teams are adopting.
3. Understanding the results: Why a transaction can look suspicious without being fraud, and why interpreting a model matters as much as building it.
4. AI as an analyst’s partner: How generative AI turns anomaly-detection results into clear, readable explanations and why the Data Scientist’s judgement remains essential.
After the session: drinks and meet the team 🍺
Joining us in Zurich or Munich? Stay for drinks and snacks, see our campus, and meet our trainers and team. It’s the best moment to ask about the Data Science program, what a typical week looks like, or financing options.
Who this is for?
Anyone curious about how data and machine learning solve real-world problems. You don’t need any coding experience. We explain every step along the way. If you already code, you’ll get a closer look at a professional workflow and Polars in action.
