The Journey From Invention Idea to the Shelves of Mass Retailers

Details
For our first Austin Consumer Product Inventor Meetup, we're going to host a series of expert speakers with a panel Q&A session with local industry leaders. We'll take you on the journey from initial idea, to market research, to design and engineering, to intellectual property protection, to manufacturing, and finally to sales/distribution to the big retailers. This is a great way to get your feet wet into the business of physical product inventing to help you paint a clear picture of how it works from end-to-end.
The event will be hosted by Kevin Mako, an accomplished entrepreneur who has founded remarkable establishments across North America in the product development industry.
Our Guest Speakers are:
James Chalmers, the Vice President of MAKO Invent and an expert in product strategy. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, James will be walking us through the product development path, from conceptualization to getting products on store shelves.
Michael Morton, a renowned Product Design Specialist and a former Lead Designer at Dell. With his strong background in solution synthesis and development, passion for user-centric elegance and simplicity, Michael will be sharing his expert approach to product design.
Kirk Dorius, the head of patent prosecution group at Reed & Scardino LLP with a strong background in mechanical engineering. His expertise in both fields has helped him take a hands-on approach to understanding and protecting new technologies.
We will be serving refreshments for you to enjoy while networking and connecting with industry professionals and like-minded inventors. There will plenty of time for you to ask questions and receive some great advice from product development experts
