MCP & ECS: Connect AI tools to the real world and launch apps fast & reliably
Details
Join us for an evening of cloud innovation, hands-on learning, and networking — featuring a hands-on lab, three expert talks from AWS and copebit AG, and plenty of time for pizza and beer.
We’ll explore how to build, deploy, and scale modern applications using Amazon ECS, serverless technologies, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
You can join just the workshop, just the talks, or — even better — both!

Event Details
Hands-On Lab: MCP & ECS in Action
Get hands-on experience with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Amazon ECS.
Learn how to connect AI systems to external tools and deploy containerized apps quickly and reliably.
Perfect for developers and engineers who want practical experience with the technologies covered in the talks.
Talk 1 – Beyond Services: Using ECS Tasks for Automated AWS Inventory (Petter Uvesten, copebit AG)
Discover how the copebit team uses ECS Tasks for powerful one-shot and scheduled automations. Petter will showcase copebit’s DIT 2.0 (Discover Inventory Tool), built with CloudQuery, ECS, RDS, and Amazon Managed Grafana to deliver AWS usage dashboards. He’ll also share how copebit secures third-party access with external IDs.
About the speaker:
Petter is a Software Engineer at copebit with a Master’s in Software Engineering, full-stack expertise, and a strong people-first mindset.
He’s an entrepreneurial polyglot developer and experienced engineering manager passionate about building both high-performing systems and teams.
Talk 2 – Beyond local tools: Deep dive into the Model Context Protocol (MCP) (by Luca Perrozzi, AWS)
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) standardizes how AI applications connect to external data and tools. This talk explores advanced MCP architectures — local vs. remote deployments, scaling strategies, gateways, and authorization patterns — giving practical insights into building MCP-enabled AI systems.
About the speaker:
Luca is a Senior Data & AI Engineer and Cloud Solution Architect at AWS.
With a PhD in Particle Physics and over a decade of experience in Big Data and analytics (including time at CERN working on the Higgs Boson), he now focuses on designing and implementing scalable, AI-driven business applications.
Talk 3 – Small Apps, Big Effect: Fast and Reliable Deployments on AWS ECS (Tobias Vonesch, copebit AG)
Not every application needs Kubernetes. Tobias will show how Amazon ECS offers a simple, scalable, and cost-efficient way to run small or single-purpose apps — delivering fast deployments and reliable performance.
About the speaker:
Tobias is a Technical Sales Engineer and AWS Consultant at copebit AG.
He bridges the gap between cloud challenges and AWS services and is active as an AWS Community Builder in the DevTools realm.
About copebit AG
copebit AG is a Swiss cloud consulting and engineering company focused on transparency, innovation, and long-term partnerships.
With deep expertise in AWS and modern DevOps practices, Copebit helps organizations design, build, and operate secure, scalable cloud solutions.
