Centering Prayer & other meditations

Details
It's time to start up again for the fall! This year we will be offering a cycle of meditations, including some that are traditionally Buddhist, to our Christian Meditation practices. Below you'll find a description of each. We will cycle through these meditations, one each week. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask Damien or Bonnie.
Centering Prayer- A traditional, contemplative practice with its roots in ancient Christianity. In this practice, we train in the ability to rest in the experience of God without manipulation. Through the use of a sacred word, we stabilize and deepen our relationship with God. This meditative practice purifies the mind and deepens our access to grace and inspiration.

Mindfulness Meditation- A simple, meditation technique in which the breath is used as an object for anchoring the mind to the present moment. This method reduces stress and anxiety and increases one’s ability to use intentions for life transformation.
