The Business of Boundaries: Maintaining a Healthy, Sustainable Content Practice
Details
About This Session
The very act of establishing a content practice creates boundaries within which the content work gets done. As a result, you’ll likely find that you’re constantly called upon to help cross-functional teams and departmental partners understand practice parameters.
One of the most effective ways to do this is by being clear about what your practice will not do and what it will not be responsible for, which is just as important as what it will do.
And while it may sound counterintuitive, for the sake of practice health and sustainability, it’s in your best interest to be as inclusive as possible when it comes to creating those boundaries by inviting as many of your cross-functional teammates as possible to contribute to the process.
In this talk, Natalie will:
-
Define the core of their practice: cultural environment, systems, and people
-
Consider the importance of modeling intentional self-care
-
Explore the concept of active listening to invite authentic sharing and feedback
-
Understand the superpower of vulnerability within safe practice spaces
-
Embrace being the bottleneck to avoid burnout
-
Discover how an inclusive definition of boundaries empowers practitioners to push back—and even say no—to impossible demands and deadlines
