Sunday I went to the Carrillo Ballroom for the Contra Dance. There were a lot of people there. A big group from SLO, some from Pasadena, Hawaii, and even Edith Liu was there. There were lovely women I enjoyed dancing with. Swinging with a tiny girl who was perhaps 7 years old was sweet. I had a great fun goofy time with Leah whom I had met years ago. At one point an older man fell during a dance but popped back up and continued on. There were delicious strawberries, chips and guacamole and chocolate birthday cake at the break. A man I didn't know thought I look like California Governor Gavin Newsom! What a nice compliment. He's so handsome, brave, and funny. On the last dance of the night Leah and I were at the top of the line - #1’s. The caller said that in this dance #1’s were special as we got to swing in the center while the #2’s stood back and watched. During the dance I made some funny vocal celebrations about being special and did some Nicholas Cage – Wild At Heart dance kicks with the extra space we enjoyed. Leah was in stitches laughing. I had danced every dance and mingled around saying good bye to folks.
