Beat the winter blues at the first contra of 2026! Don't let the schedule-scrambling weather of January keep you from joining the Columbia Contra scene in February!

CALLER & BAND: Columbia caller, Dianne Palmer-Quay, will guide you through weather-busting dances using the terms Larks and Robins. Columbia band, Sherlock's Meow, will put your toes to tapping with lively traditional tunes.

TIME: Doors will open at 5:45 to allow time for pre-dance socializing around plates of finger foods both sweet and savory. Please bring something delicious to share. Paper goods and water will be provided. There will be a review of dance basics at 6:30 with the full dance starting at 7:00pm.

DANCE LOCATION - The dance occurs at Arsenal Hill, 1800 Lincoln St. Columbia. Free Parking may be found in the adjacent parking garage.
COST: A donation of $10, cash or check or $10.50 on Venmo
(@contracola-sc) is requested to help cover the costs of caller, musicians, and facility.

OTHER DETAILS: Children age 12 and under dance for free with a paying (and supervising) adult. All should wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled, non-marking shoes.

UPCOMING DANCES: Our next dance will be Saturday, March 28th. Keep an eye out for details on caller and band.
