Contra and Pre-Dance Potluck on Saturday, June 27th!

Come out to swing and socialize at our summer potluck and dance!

CALLER & BAND: Columbia caller, Dianne Palmer-Quay, using the terms Larks and Robins, and Charleston band, Lettuce Pray, will get you moving on the dance floor.

TIME: A pre-dance potluck will be held from 6:00 to 6:30 (doors open at 5:45). Please bring a dish to share with a serving utensil. Paper products, water and cups will be provided.

A review of contra dance basics will start at 6:30 to get new dancers ready to join the fun. The evening dance will run from 7:00 until 9:30 pm.

Each dance is taught by the caller before the music starts and the caller keeps everyone in step during the dance, so there is no need to worry about knowing what to do next!

DANCE LOCATION - The dance occurs at Arsenal Hill, 1800 Lincoln St. Columbia. Free Parking may be found in the adjacent parking garage.

COST: A donation of $10, cash or check or $10.50 on Venmo (@contracola-sc) is requested to help cover the costs of caller, musicians, and facility.

OTHER DETAILS: Children age 12 and under dance for free with a paying (and supervising) adult. All should wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled, non-marking shoes.

UPCOMING DANCES: There will not be a dance in July but plan to join us again on August 22nd.
