Contra Dance on Saturday, September 26th!

September is the other January! Start a new dance habit with
ContraCola!

CALLER & BAND: Columbia caller, Victor Gascon, will be directing the dancers using the terms Ladies and Gents. Local Columbia band, The Outsiders (Dianne Palmer-Quay, Julie Russell, James Subosits) will keep you moving with upbeat, driving tunes.

TIME: Doors open at 6:15 pm. A review of contra dance basics will start at 6:30 to get new dancers ready to join the fun. The evening dance will run from 7:00 until 9:30 pm.

Each dance is taught before the music starts and the caller keeps everyone in step during the dance, so there is no need to worry about knowing what to do next!

DANCE LOCATION - The dance occurs at Arsenal Hill, 1800 Lincoln St. Columbia. Free Parking may be found in the adjacent parking garage or on the street.

COST: A donation of $10, cash or check or $10.50 on Venmo (@contracola-sc) is requested to help cover the costs of caller, musicians, and facility.

OTHER DETAILS: Children age 12 and under dance for free with a paying (and supervising) adult. All should wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled, non-marking shoes.
Feel free to bring a salty or sweet snack to share. Water and cups will be available.
