Driving Madeleine (Une belle course)
2022 Comedy/Drama 1h 31 min
Directed by Christian Carion
A seemingly simple taxi ride across Paris evolves into a profound meditation for the driver, whose life is in shambles, and his passenger, an elderly woman whose warmth belies her shocking past. Charles (Dany Boon) is having a bad day. Some debts are due, he’s in danger of losing his license to numerous infractions, and his marriage is strained. A quick fare in the suburbs seems like an easy ride. Enter Madeleine (Line Renaud), an immaculately groomed 92-year-old who informs him that the trip today will not be a direct one. She is moving into a care home and would like to make some stops along the way, as this might be her last car ride through the city.
In French with English subtitles. Free admission, Suggested donation $5.
