A “WALK”….ON THE WILD SIDE. 🐻🌲🌿🍁🍂
Details
Well The Wild Side just means you won’t see or hear anything except the birds, maybe, and the other normal mountain/ woodland sounds. Lol
I have done this for 3 years and the yellow Larches and Aspen were beautiful, which is why I am repeating, however it may be a tad late for the golden color.
It is mostly straight walking with just a bit of up and down hills going to the Kelowna lookout from Bellevue Canyon and then back up to return the same way. If you own bear spray, please bring it along.. Approx. 15 kms return.
Directions as follows. Take KLO Road east until you reach McCullogh Rd (the pub is right near the corner). Turn right and keep going a short way to the first stop sign. McCullogh turns right here. Again continue along as if you were going to Gallagher’s But as the road curves left watch immediately for June Springs Rd. Turn right. Continue to the end of the paved part of June Springs and then continue straight as the road now is called Little White Rd and turns to gravel and can be quite bumpy. Go until you see a #3 marker on the right. Not much space to park at the trailhead but the road should be fine too! DO NOT MISTAKE THIS FOR THE ANGEL SPRINGS HIKE which you will pass on the way up.
Bring your snacks, water and we will stop at the lookout to grab a bite and take pics. Also since it is bear country, if you own bear spray, do bring it along. I will have mine too. It is only one km from the trestles.
NB..all mileages and times are estimates.
Madeleine 😊
PS follow my directions…the pin won’t set up in the proper spot.
