THE FUR BRIGADE - SUMMERLAND PORTION …EASY
Details
THIS EVENT IS STILL ON AS IT IS MOSTLY A FLAT WALK. BRING SPIKES IN CASE YOU MAY WANT TO USE THEM
The first part of the historical Fur Brigade was just recently done from Peachland.
Now for those that want to see the whole Okanagan portion I will do it from Garnet Lake in Summerland to the Summerland lookout. Which is actually the second lookout.
This Is an easy walk/hike unlike the first portion but still interesting. When we return to Garnet Lake we will have our lunch at a picnic bench at Garnet Lake. In previous years and warmer weather I have posted the whole trail starting from and returning to Peachland but that is about a five hour hike.
Dress for the weather and bring your mini spikes as there could be a tad of snow at that level. There was last year. Also bring a lunch and a warm drink.
From highway 97 and entering Summerland look for Jones Flat Road and turn right. Follow this road until it meets Garnet Valley Road, about 10minutes. Make a right onto Garnet Valley and continue to the lake. About 20 - 30 minutes. The last half of the drive is on gravel.
