Goode’s Basin is one of the standards on this end of the lake. It’s 10 km return, 496m elevation gain, with a well marked trail.

We’ll meet in the larger parking lot that, on google maps, is called the Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park Trailhead parking. We’ll then car pool to the small pullout about 2 km up the road that serves as a parking area to access the Golden Mile trail. From there, the trail starts with a pretty steady uphill climb, which levels off when we make the left turn to Goode’s Basin trail. We’ll go through some nice forest and then take a couple of switchbacks up to the top which has a great view.

Bring spikes as it might be icy near the top. Also bring the usual, lunch, water, poles, etc. This area can be windy so a good windproof layer is essential, especially in the colder weather. We’ll take a short break at the top and head back down the same way.

Of interest, I am planning a longer hike 2 weeks later which is called Goode’s Basin + a Peak. This trip will be a good opportunity to scout the longer hike as I’ll point out the route for any that might be interested in a little adventure.
