White Lake Loop - the Harder Side
Details
The White Lake Loop trail has a south side and the north side. Most times we do the south side, which has better developed trails. I would like to do the north side, which is much less developed and involves some bushwhacking at one end.
I have done the trail once before, but I didn't measure it so my numbers here are my best estimates. I believe this will be 14 to 15 km in distance with 400 to 500 m elevation gain.
I call this a moderate hike, but bushwhacking puts some people off, so make sure you are okay with that if you decide to come.
I have given 5.5 hours for the hike including a lengthy break at the highest point. I believe I am being conservative, but do NOT come on this hike if you need to be back that day by 5 pm. Plan for the whole day. If we get back earlier, great, but don't count on it.
Dogs are welcome.
It is a long drive to the start so carpooling is a great idea. If you want a ride, or are willing to drive, please post that below. You are free to join us at the trailhead at 9 am.
I would like to meet at 7:45 am to carpool and depart from the Capri Centre. We can arrange to pick people up in West Kelowna. After the hike I would like to stop and eat at a pub, but I am happy to go with majority decision for that with whomever is riding with me.
