New to Cookeville/Putnam County, the surrounding area, or even Tennessee? Want to get to know others who are new to the area also? Just here temporarily? Not new, but want to help people acclimate to a new environment? Join Cookeville Transplants!
We are a group made up of new, kinda new, and native Cookevillians who want to exchange ideas, explore the area, and share about great businesses, adventures, and events in Cookeville and the surrounding areas.
We meet once a month formally, with informal visits throughout the month. Our formal events are laid back and may include organized activities or meet and greet type events.
All are welcome; families, singles, students, empty nesters, etc.

Join us for a self-guided Kayak Trip up-river to the bottom of Burgess Falls (about 2 miles).
This will be a self-paid event. Kayaks are about $25-$40 for the 24-hr period, depending on the style.
Please reserve and pay for your kayak at Outdoor Experience in advance. We will pick up your kayaks with our trailer around 10:00 am on August 23rd. We will then meet you at the put-in point down river from the falls (end of Cane Hollow Rd.). If you would rather pick up your own kayak or if you have another rental you would like to use that's fine too. Or if you own your own kayak, great!
This will be a self-guided tour up-river, so be ready for an adventure and a good upper-body work out.
Please RSVP to this event so that we know to pick up your kayak at Outdoor Experience and/or not leave shore without you.
