Kayak Cleanup at Fancher Falls

Details
## REGISTRATION REQUIRED VIA THE CUMBERLAND RIVER COMPACT VOLUNTEERHUB PAGE
Event Details: Join the Cumberland River Compact and Cumberland Kayak & Adventure Company for a cleanup at Fancher Falls in Sparta, TN! Volunteers will remove trash via kayak from the waterways leading up to Fancher Falls before basking in its glory, up-close-and-personal! This event provides the perfect opportunity to witness some of the beauty that can be found in the Cumberland River basin outside of the city.
No kayak? No problem! The Compact and Cumberland Kayak will provide a limited number of kayaks and first-time kayakers are welcome. If you would prefer to volunteer aboard your own kayak, please email volunteer@cumberlandrivercompact.org and we will reserve an additional volunteer slot for you - all kayak owners are welcome! All participants MUST register on VolunteerHub to guarantee a spot and a kayak.
Volunteer Registration: Everyone who volunteers with the Cumberland River Compact must register and create an account in VolunteerHUB. Please click the hyperlink to sign up.
Wait-- who is the Cumberland River Compact?
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to enhancing the health and enjoyment of the Cumberland River and its tributaries through action, education and collaboration. Our various projects and initiatives include stream restorations, stormwater flooding and pollution prevention, E-Stem programs for Tennessee teachers and experiential education programs, River Friendly Farms certifications, and Root Nashville.
Can I volunteer with my company, church group or other community group?
Yes! The best stewardship memories are made with others. Not only would we love to host your group, but we are able to reserve a number of slots for your group to ensure everyone can sign up as well as easily track who from your group is participating. If you'd like to set up a group reservation for this event or one of our other volunteer events, reach out to Anna at volunteer@cumberlandrivercompact.org.
While we are a whole lot of fun, we do have basic rules and guidelines that need to be followed in order to participate in our stewardship.
- All volunteers must sign Volunteer Waivers to participate in any stewardship event. This includes any additional waivers required by the city and other municipalities, as well as our standard Compact waiver. All waivers are available to sign when registering on VolunteerHUB.
- Minors MUST have a parent or guardian sign our Minor Waiver. Young children under the age of 13 cannot attend a volunteer opportunity without an adult chaperone.
- Cleanup supplies for all volunteer events are provided. We ask that you bring your own water and snacks.
- Please wear clothes you can get wet and dirty and shoes that adequately protect your feet (no flip flops!).
