Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

Details
Hello everybody
Thank you to those who showed up yesterday to discuss Jean-Paul Sartre’s Nausea. It was a hot day yesterday with plenty of people in the park. But we had a good and meaningful (iykyk) discussion on existentialism.
The next book to read, by popular vote, is Ray Bradbury’s dystopian science fiction novel Fahrenheit 451 from 1953. It’s set in a distant future, in which books are being burned. Guy Montag, one of the book burners, or firemen, becomes disillusioned with his task and takes it upon himself to preserve instead of to burn.
You can read more about the book here.
As this is a proper classic, there is, of course, an audiobook version available as well. And a famous classic movie version, which is not to be missed.
For other ressources on how to get a hold of classic books, please see the About us section on the front page of the group here.
We meet up on Saturday August 9th at 4 pm at The Garden of the Royal Library. Please remember to bring your suggestion for the next classic book to read.
And please, as always, be mindful and respectful of each other, so that everyone feels respected and appreciated.
In the meantime happy reading/listening/watching or however you plan to do it. And have a lovely summer! Let’s hope we don’t reach Fahrenheit 451 during, but being familiar with Danish summers, it’s safe to say we probably won’t.
Andreas
