We’re happy to announce special guest speakers coming to Copenhagen, for two advanced tech-talks:

1. Atomic Architecture - Functional Programming meets Software Architecture
In this talk, we will introduce the Atomic Architecture concept as a data-centric approach to tackling today's myriad of cross-cutting requirements, from security, trust and observability. We’ll explain its roots in the Clojure programming language, Domain Driven Design, Data Mesh and other influences.

Speaker Bio: Malcolm Sparks is a Co-founder and CTO of JUXT, a software consulting company that was formed from the Clojure community in London in 2012.

2. Bitemporality For Functional Programmers
Application developers have been rolling their own half-baked bitemporal SQL schemas for decades with moderate success, but it's a complicated, risky business and new systems can do better. XTDB is a modern database that bakes a bitemporal index into its core and gives developers a clear abstraction for working with immutable data and temporal records. In this talk, we will outline the common use cases for bitemporal modelling and discuss how it impacts the design and maintenance of applications.

Speaker Bio: Jeremy Taylor is the Head of Product for XTDB, an open source database built by JUXT for solving complex problems with dynamic and temporal data.

** Drinks and snacks will be provided **

If anyone would like to meet with Malcolm ([mal@juxt.pro](mailto:mal@juxt.pro)) and Jeremy ([jdt@juxt.pro](mailto:jdt@juxt.pro)) outside the event - they will be in Copenhagen April 17-18 (Mon-Tues). Please contact them directly via email.

If anyone is interested in attending a dinner afterwards (probably at Grillen, 2 minutes away from the office), please ping Addie at [aby@juxt.pro](mailto:aby@juxt.pro)
