Copenhagen Data Engineering takes to the seas
Details
Get ready for the next edition of the Copenhagen Data Engineering Meetup!
Following our successful relaunch, we are incredibly excited to announce our next gathering. This time, we are heading to one of Copenhagen’s most iconic locations: Mærsk HQ at Esplanaden.
Join us for an evening focused on how data engineering and AI are reshaping the global marine industry. We are diving deep into real-world use cases, ranging from optimizing fleet speeds to deploying AI assistants for safety and navigation.
The Lineup:
We have a great agenda planned with industry experts:
- Anders Rydbirk (Mærsk) will take us under the hood of "Ocean Map." He will demonstrate a data-driven approach to calculating estimates and speeds, showing how Mærsk leverages data to optimize global logistics.
- Gnanasoundari Soundararajan (Everrlence) will introduce us to an IOT Platform which helps sail through data. As the marine industry enters a new era, AI is reshaping navigation, safety, and sustainability. Gnanasoundari will explore how AI is applied to fleet operations and, crucially, will discuss the engineering challenges faced during the exploration and implementation phases.
- Asaf Sneh and Nikolay Volik will talk about the streaming data platform at unity, and how they use Flink
And of course it wouldn't be a proper event with out food and drinks
📍 Location & Security (IMPORTANT) The event is hosted by Mærsk at their premises on Esplanaden 50.
> ⚠️ Security Notice: Due to strict security protocols at the venue, registration is mandatory and time-sensitive. Only people on the guestlist by the morning of the 9th of December will be allowed entry. We cannot accept walk-ins or late registrations. Please RSVP early to secure your spot!
Agenda:
- 18:00: Arrive
- 18:15: Welcome
- 18:25: Ocean Map: A data-driven approach for estimates and speeds (Anders Rydbirk, Mærsk)
