What we’re about
A hobby can blossom into something greater, the more you’re surrounded by likeminded people. Within this group I’m attempting to create a space where we can add to each other’s experience of pursuing a hobby, maybe with a chance to catch inspiration, a motivating environment, an opportunity to socialize around common interests, or just plainly a change of scenery.
We’ll have events both during weekdays and during weekends. Some of the ideas I have so far:
• Crafting home decorations
• Writing poetry or short stories about a specific topic
• Playing easy-to-learn board games
• Drawing based on a common theme
• Creating origami figures
Feel free to suggest other activities and to give feedback, during the events or through a private message on Meetup.
Why just indoors? --- I thought about how much to extend the scope of the activities and I found it best to limit ourselves just to indoor activities. This will give us enough liberty to practice several hobbies, and enough means to make the space safe.
In the near future I intend to make some paid events as well, which I’ll prepare with materials, and I’ll host at places more in line with the hobby. Once I figure out more details, I will announce them in the group.
The rules, during the events and during the interaction on Meetup:
- This group is meant to foster connection, community, and healthy attitude towards hobbies. The quality of our time spent in this group depends on how well we manage to create this environment.
- A positive attitude towards our work is highly encouraged. Please refrain from unsolicited critique.
- I will stick with activities that are physically and psychologically safe, but keep in mind that, ultimately, we’re all responsible for our safety. Also, if you have concerns about something, inform me, and I will do my best to sort it out.
- I won’t take any photos during the events, because I believe that everyone should have privacy by default in this group. If you wish to have pictures of your work published on the Meetup group, send them to me and I will add them.

Copenhagen’s summer atmosphere is fully alive and bubbling. Maybe you’re in the city center, browsing shops or visiting museums, or enjoying the sunny weather, or maybe you unwind your mind on a relaxing day.
If you’re feeling like taking a break or doing something new and easy, like a hobby you may share with others, we can gather at the Main Library and attempt at creating some origami figures. It’s quite effortless, we can choose figures from https://origami.guide/ (scroll down to see more) and follow the guides to make them come alive.
Bring some pieces of paper, and maybe a pen or a pencil, and let’s express ourselves through the Japanese art of origami.
