Julia Copenhagen Meetup – February 8th

Julia Copenhagen Meetup, Winter edition!

Hi everyone and merry Christmas!
In the Julia Copenhagen Meetup admin group, we hope that everyone will have a happy holiday 🎄 The Christmas present from is a new season of Julia events 🎅

The next meetup will be Wednesday the 8th of February at 18.00. We are so lucky that Michael Borregaard has booked the auditorium at the top of the Mærsk Tower (i.e. at the 15th floor). Even just the views of Copenhagen alone are enough to join the meetup! As such, we also need the names of the people attending the meetup the day before, so remember to sign up.

This time we will have two talks.
First we will hear from Sören Dobberschütz, Team Leader at Kaleido Technology, who give a short introduction to the Genie Framework. Genie includes all you need to quickly build production-ready web applications with Julia
Afterwards, Rafael Schouten, package author and PhD. fellow at the Section for Biodiversity, University of Copenhagen, will speak about Julia geospatial tools, the JuliaGeo org, and how they implemented a traits-based interface to unite the geospatial ecosystem.
