This meetup is done in collaboration with the IoT People meetup group and our friends from Bluefragments.

The examples used in this talk are all C# / .NET based with examples that tie together with various Azure services. We hope this talk can offer some inspiration as to how open APIs like the one from DMI can be used.

TALK DESCRIPTION
We all feel it and we all have an opinion about it – the weather! Will it rain in the morning? Can I wear shorts or is pants better? Will it be a warm summer in Denmark or will I need to go somewhere south to get tanned?

Last year DMI decided to open up and share their meteorological data. This is part of a strategy from DMI towards new solutions and more green solutions.

In BLUEFRAGMENTS we have deep dived in the meteorological data from DMI and how to use the data to generate business value.

In this talk we will focus on something that is extremely important (especially in April in Denmark): shall I shovel snow from the sidewalk tomorrow morning or not?

We will take a look at some of the meteorological data and we will use the data to generate a weather overview for a limited geographical area. Using a machine learning model we will predict frost in the area and based on the results, we will give a recommendation on whether you will need to shovel snow or not.

Speakers are Code Wizard Martin Oht and Data Magician Thomas Martinsen, both from BLUEFRAGMENTS.
