The CopenhagenR useR meetup group is a forum for individuals in and around Copenhagen with an interest in R, welcoming members at all levels of expertise. Our aim is to provide a space for sharing knowledge, learning, and mutual inspiration in the use of R.
We're always looking for new speakers and collaborations. Please don't hesitate to contact the organizers if you're interested in speaking at a meetup, or even hosting one! :)
R's strengths in data analysis, visualization, and statistical modeling make it a valuable tool in many fields. It is notable for its ability to integrate with different data sources and other programming languages, enhancing its utility in data science. Whether you are new to R or an experienced user, this group offers an opportunity to explore and discuss its various applications.

Join us for a CopenhagenR meetup, whether you're new to R or a seasoned pro! This double feature includes a presentation on data.table vs. tibbles and a session on The Data We Work With.
1. The Great R Divide: data.table vs. tibble
Do you ever feel like not all R users are coding in the same language? While many use data.table to store their data, others rely on tidyverse’s tibble. So how do we decide which one to use? Let’s sit down for a brief discussion of how we got here!
This presentation will be given by Ahmet Akkoç (rhymes with “coach”), a Data Scientist based in Copenhagen since 2021. Ahmet works as an IT Engineer and Data Scientist at ZiteLab, a Frederiksberg-based e-health consultancy. His recent projects include federated learning, OMOP-CDM integrations, and time-series forecasting.
2. The data we work with
A session where we’ll hear stories about some of the data sets we work with. It will be kicked off by Gregers Kjerulf Dubrow, who will talk about data he works with at the National Food Institute, and Rasmus Bååth, who will discuss a data set used for calculating CO₂ emissions.
But this session is also open to you! Would you like to take 5–15 minutes to talk about some interesting (or horrible, weird, boring, etc.) data you work with? We’d love to hear about it! Please email the organizers at rasmus.baath@gmail.com to let us know.
