What?
We invite you to join this CopenhagenR meetup, whether you're a beginner interested in R or a seasoned veteran. This evening we have a double feature, with two speakers!

First, Dawid Kałędkowski will present Simplify shiny apps building with teal . Teal is a shiny-based interactive exploration framework for analysing data that enables app developers to create shiny dashboards equipped with a filter panel module and optional reproducible reporting tools. Dawid is Data Scientist with 10+ years experience in R programming. He's an author of several CRAN packages (runner, sport, and teal).

After that, Ramarro Marrone will present Dwindling software freedom in the R ecosystem. R itself remains part of the GNU project, licensed under the GNU General Public License, and capable of running on many free operating systems. However, it is increasingly becoming popular to incorporate non-free software and services as substitutes into R environments. Moreover, the unethical practices are often obscured from users, and some users may not even realize that they are using non-free software. I will introduce the concepts of proprietary and free software, demonstrate the recent trends towards unethical practices in R, and comment on the dangers of such practices for the individual and for society. Finally, I will inform you of what we can do about these trends, both as individuals to protect ourselves and as a group to further a free society.
