Every First Saturdays of the Month *Join us July 4th for Bible study at 10:30-11:30am. Just one Hour... (I know its a holiday but start your day with prayer and study).

Location:

  • Cypress Waters area in Coppell, Texas... THIS IS NOT A HOME BASE BIBLE STUDY.

We will dive into Philippians 4:4-9, a profound passage written by the Apostle Paul while he was imprisoned in Rome. Despite his difficult physical circumstances, this section of Paul's letter overflows with joy, hope, and practical wisdom. We will explore how Paul instructs believers to replace anxiety with supernatural peace, the vital role of intentional prayer, and the power of retraining our minds to focus on what is truly honorable and good.

Light snacks will be provided. Walking by lake and prayer rocks will be given out at the end. We will meet at the Co Lab working station on Harpers Street. Bibles and notepad recommended.

Discussion Questions
Opening & Icebreaker

  • What is one practical thing that usually helps you calm down or find peace after a stressful day?
  • Why do you think it is so easy for our minds to drift toward worry instead of peace?

Digging Into the Text

  • Paul commands the believers to "rejoice in the Lord always" (v. 4) while he is writing from a prison cell. How does his situation change the way we understand this command?
  • According to verse 6, what is the antidote to anxiety, and what specific elements should be included in our prayers?
  • Verse 7 promises a peace that "surpasses all understanding." Have you ever experienced a sense of peace that didn't make sense given your circumstances? What did that look like?
  • Look at the list of virtues in verse 8 (true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, praiseworthy). Why does Paul place such a high emphasis on what we choose to think about?
