CoreOS London - January 2017 Meetup

Details
Happy New Year Everyone! Hopefully everyone was sufficiently fed and watered over Christmas and is now raring to go with 2017!
We're getting the ball rolling with our first meetup of the year. Please join us on Jan 24th for an evening of beer, pizza and talks! Many thanks to uSwitch again for kindly hosting the meetup.
As we did in December, we will also be giving a Workshop (https://www.meetup.com/CoreOS-London/events/236794608/) before the meetup. This has been created as a SEPARATE EVENT (https://www.meetup.com/CoreOS-London/events/236794608/) in order to mange the numbers more efficiently. This can be found here: https://www.meetup.com/CoreOS-London/events/236794608/
Paul Burt from CoreOS (who is also delivering the Workshop) will join us through the magic of internet communications from New York to deliver his talk:
CoreOS Operators in K8s
We'll be introducing the concept of CoreOS Operators (https://coreos.com/blog/introducing-operators.html) as well as looking at the current k8s alpha and beta work that is exiting beta, and receiving full support in 2017. We'll also look at and discuss some gaps in k8s, where no clear solution has emerged as yet.
Our second talk will be delivered by Luke Bond, Developer-turned DevOps engineer currently working at the UK Home Office:
How to build Kubernetes Operators
Using CoreOS' guidelines for building operators, Luke will demystify what an operator is exactly, and show the basic building blocks of what's required to build one in Golang.
Look forward to seeing you there,
David and Antony
