Blind Tasting

Blind Tasting Event
Proudly presenting our top 12 wine selection for February 2012, some exceptional wines will be on BLIND tasting, discount available on wines purchased during event. There are a number of different theories about blind tasting, which is where wines are tasted without knowing the producer, origin, or other details obtainable from the wine’s label. It is a skill that very few of us, unless you are studying wine seriously, will ever need to be good at, let alone master, but there is value to blind tasting. It is the most neutral, least biased ways to taste. There are no preconceived notions about a wine based upon producer or vintage year or price point, you evaluate a wine based upon the wine itself; nothing else and it’s a truly humbling experience. The actual identification of a grape varietal, region of origin, or even vintage, while impressive and requiring a great amount of experience, is the less important component to blind tasting. This blind tasting class is a part of our education series: will you be interested in participating?
Guest Speaker: the Cork & fork Team will make comments before, during and after the tasting. Each member of the team will comment on their favorite wines from the February selection. A fun night paired with casual nibbles where everybody may be quite surprised by this experience.
