If you’re tired of defaulting to scrolling or staying home, Cork Explore & Connect offers a better way to spend your Saturdays.
This group is for people in Cork who:
• Feel stuck at home on weekends
• Want company but don’t want loud party scenes
• Work hard during the week and just need a reset
• Don’t have much time for social life Monday–Friday
We keep things simple, relaxed, and genuinely friendly. It is about slowing down, getting outside, playing games, trying new activities, and building real connections in a relaxed environment.
Every month includes 4 different weekend activities:
Games (Board games, Card games etc.)
Outdoors (Hiking/ Walking/ day trip, etc.)
Explore Together (Workshops, events etc.)
☕ Social Chill (coffee, picnic, quiz, etc.)
Most people come solo — and that’s completely normal here so don’t feel shy.

Dursey Island is one of Ireland’s most exposed Atlantic locations, so weather conditions can change quickly.
Please bring:
✔ Comfortable walking shoes
✔ Waterproof jacket
✔ Warm layers
✔ Water
✔ Packed lunch or snacks
✔ Camera
⚠️ The cable car may temporarily stop operating during periods of very strong winds. If weather conditions affect the event, we’ll keep everyone updated in advance.

💡 Good to Know
Come solo — most people do.
This is not a hiking event. We’ll keep the day relaxed and enjoy the island at an easy pace.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead due to livestock.
As the cable car carries only six passengers at a time, there may be a short wait before everyone has crossed.
Public facilities on the island are limited, so please come prepared.
