Running since June 2013, every month we have 1-2 talks focused on Security or Technology - followed by socialising with like minded people – and you can find out exactly what to expect on the About Us section of our Meetup page. All people with any sort of an interest or level of knowledge in Security, Hacking and Emerging Technology are more than welcome to attend and feel free to bring like minded colleagues and friends.

Our talks come from our community so if you have an idea for a topic (anything for 10-60 minutes) please email us at DefconCork@gmail.com . Whether you are an experienced presenter, or presenting for your first time - CorkSec is a great venue for it - and we are happy to help you prepare and mentor you.

TALK 1: Cyber Career Speaker Series: February - April 2023

• CorkSec, in conjunction with Cyber Ireland, is hosting a Cyber Career Speaker Series across 3 evenings in February, March & April 2023.
• Each time we will chat with 3 panelists from security industry at different points in their careers, to help the audience understand more on their own potential paths in Security - starting in February with those at earlier stages of their careers.
• Combined with one of CorkSecs traditional technical talks - the night promises to informative, diverse, inspiring and fun. Nothing is off the table! So Come along to hear interesting stories, pick up some tips and meet people from the security industry

TALK 2: Container Security Best Practices on AWS by Alaa Saeed

• In this talk, Alaa will be speaking about the importance of container security and some of the best practices to keep your containers safe. Alongside with a demo of some vulnerability scanning tools provided by AWS like ECR basic scanning and AWS Inspector.
