Cork|Sec 123

Details
Running since June 2013, every month we have 1-2 talks focused on Security or Technology - followed by socialising with like minded people – and you can find out exactly what to expect on the About Us section of our Meetup page. Past talk details are on our wiki on http://corksec.com/. All people with any sort of an interest or level of knowledge in Security, Hacking and Emerging Technology are more than welcome to attend and feel free to bring like minded colleagues and friends.
Our talks come from our community so if you have an idea for a topic (anything for 10-60 minutes) please email us at DefconCork@gmail.com . Whether you are an experienced presenter, or presenting for your first time - CorkSec is a great venue for it - and we are happy to help you prepare and mentor you.
Doors open at 19:00 with talks starting at 19:15. Talks TBC
TALK 1: "What Happened in Vegas, Left Vegas: Cool Stuff from DefCon" - Andrew Kenneally
After a few pints at a CorkSec three months ago, Andrew was somehow convinced by a friend to take a flight to Vegas for this year's DefCon... In this talk, Andrew will be disclosing all of the interesting exploits, vulnerabilities and 'war stories' he stumbled upon while over there, disregarding the old saying of "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".
TALK 2: SPI Hard! - a n00b's adventure in flash programming - Maurice Cronin
While prepping for a planned CorkSec talk I managed to brick a router completely, brick it so completely that I had to dive into SPI flashing to recover it. So come join me for this talk and learn the basics of SPI flashing - what you need to flash a chip in place and how you actually flash a chip.
